𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗹 𝗦𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗮𝗸𝗮 𝗙𝗮𝗹𝘀𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝘀𝗵 (𝗦𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗽𝗮𝗲𝗻𝗼𝗽𝘀𝗶𝘀 𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘀)

𝗘𝗻𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗹 𝗦𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗮𝗸𝗮 𝗙𝗮𝗹𝘀𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝘀𝗵 (𝗦𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗽𝗮𝗲𝗻𝗼𝗽𝘀𝗶𝘀 𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘀)

Late on Saturday 17 August 2024 we were returning from a dive on our House reef, and at 3 m depth over sand, we stumbled upon this elusive Devil Scorpionfish.

We spent time observing and photographing this master of disguise as it slowly crawled across the sandy bottom, blending perfectly with its surroundings. Its white coloration was almost indistinguishable from the sand—an underwater ghost in plain sight.!
