JUVENILE YELLOW SPOTTED BOX FISH (Ostracion cubicus)

Description

Havannah, Harbour, Vanuatu. Approx. 12 mtrs. depth. Undeniably one of the cutest fish in our oceans. The juveniles are canary yellow with small blackspots. Normally seen in shallower water shallow they are quite shy, to get the shot is guessing game to estimate where the fish will appear next! We have seen these at very small sizes – 2cm upwards. As they grow to adulthood the colour gradually disappears to a duller brown.
