PEACOCK GROUPER (JUVENILE) - (Cephalopholis argus)

The Spire, Havannah Harbour, Vanuatu. Approx. 18 mtrs. depth. This small grouper can grow to 60cm, this is a juvenile with superb colouration. Using a macro lens I am unable to capture the full fish but the reach enabled me to get a nice shot of the beautiful blue of its spots! These fish can pale or darken rapidly and when in “pale mode” has 5-6 light coloured bars on the rear body. This specimen showed those bars.
